- Unlike basic runout switches that only detect “filament present,” the SFS V2.0 monitors filament movement to catch filament runout, filament break, and abnormal feeding conditions such as stuck/blocked filament.
- For users in India running long or unattended prints, this is a practical upgrade to improve success rates and reduce material waste.
- The main advantage of SFS V2.0 is smarter extrusion awareness. If filament stops moving normally—because a spool tangles, the filament snaps, the extruder grinds, or the path becomes blocked—the sensor can trigger a pause/stop and warning (based on your board and firmware configuration).
- This helps avoid “air printing,” where the printer continues moving with no filament, wasting hours of print time and producing unusable parts.
